Ek was the source Mike Augello who poured cold water on the Pacioretty rumours and instead said Marchessault was being discussed? I saw that on the buzzcast yesterday and now its a rumour today!! Or maybe you guys both heard this from another source?

My take, Vegas only needs to clear out like $1M. They probably move a guy like Nick Holden for nothing, replace with someone making minimum wage, and the roster is set. But that's just a fans perspective. I don't have sources.

Don't know how good a source David Pagnotta really is but heard him interviewed the other day and according to him there was a team close to acquiring Marchessault but they wanted Vegas to send a 2nd round pick with him, personally I don't buy it but who knows maybe it's true.

I'd think if Vegas was willing to give Marchessault away like they did Schmidt they'd find a taker for him easy but I don't think they wasn't to trade him unless they get something decent for him.

I bet they just do something with Holden for a bit of savings and go with what they got.

Yeah and since Suzuki played a grand total of 0 games with Marchessault, it makes a whole lot of sense. Dear god, does he even try to make things look plausible? Jesus

A source (sounds like it was Mike from his buzzcast) said Marchessault was available. He sounds French so Ek has him linked to Montreal as an E4.

I'd love a situation where Marchessault came in and Drouin got shipped elsewhere for a bag of pucks...but that's not realistic.

Drouin to Ottawa might work. They are half French. Palat would be a nice fit in Montreal but he is only going to waive to teams where he can be the GUY.
